What is Lagree Fitness?Lagree Fitness is the ultimate full-body workout created by Sebastien Lagree. Conducted on the patented Miniformer Pro, Lagree Fitness combines strength, core, cardio, circuit and flexibility training into an intense, sweat-inducing exercise.
-
How Fit do I need to be to do Lagree?Lagree is for ALL ages and levels of fitness. From professional athletes to recovering couch potatoes - as long as you come with a positive attitude and ready to work hard - you’re going to get a killer workout.
-
How is Lagree different from Pilates?Lagree is different from Pilates because the Lagree method and the Miniformer Pro were specifically designed to add cardio and intensity to the strength, core, and flexibility fundamental of the workout. There are several major differences between Pilates and the Lagree Fitness Method, which you can read more about here.
-
Should I supplement Lagree with Cardio?Lagree Fitness IS a cardiovascular workout! So, you do not need to engage in additional aerobic activities between workouts, unless this is something you like to do.
-
Which classes are appropriate for Lagree beginners? There are no “advanced” or “beginner” classes in Lagree 2.0. All of our classes – regardless of your fitness level – are designed to be very challenging! Feel free to sign up for any standard class on our schedule and our instructors will ensure that the level of difficulty is appropriate for you. If you are an advanced Pilates veteran and worry it will be too easy… it won’t. If you are concerned that your level of fitness is not sufficient, all of our instructors are trained to adjust the difficulty of each exercise to your level.
-
How often should I do Lagree? We recommend at least 2-3 times per week if you’re hoping for those long, sculpted, toned muscles and fast results. Workouts at Lagree SA are designed to fatigue your muscles so that you receive the maximum results, but you MUST build in rest days to let your let your muscles rebuild and your body recover. Listening to your body is the best indication as everyone is different!
-
How do I purchase and book a class? You can buy packages and book classes here on our website by visiting our Pricing & Packages page to choose a package that works best for you. Then, you can check out our Schedule page to reserve your spot in class. Classes can also be purchased and booked through the Fit by Wix mobile app.
-
What should I know about my first class?First and foremost… its going to be great! But also: Arrive at least 5 minutes before class to familiarise yourself with the studio and the machine. Grip Socks are needed for class. Bring your own, or purchase in studio. Wear comfortable clothing that allows your muscles to stretch and your skin to breathe. Get ready to move slowly through each move, with fast transitions.
-
How early do I need to arrive to class? Please arrive at least 5 minutes early for your first class so the instructor can give you a quick primer and show you how to use the machine. Even if you have experience with Reformer Pilates or another Lagree machine, we still recommend arriving early so we can show you the special features on our Miniformer Pros. After your first session, arrive any time before the start of class. Please make sure that you're on time as it helps us maintain the flow and ensures everyone can get out on time and enjoy the rest of their day.
-
What if I'm running late?We understand that traffic exists and meetings sometimes run over time. However, having all clients arrive on time is critical so class can flow smoothly for all other clients. If you arrive late to your FIRST class at Lagree SA, you will NOT be able to participate because the instructor can't stop the class to give you the initial overview of the machine and orientation to the method. If you arrive late to a subsequent class, you will most likely be able to join. However, you may find the doors locked because we need to protect client property and our instructors can't monitor the reception while teaching. We do offer a 5-minute grace period for late arrivals, but we ask that you give us a heads-up if you know you'll be late so that we can look out for you ringing the bell.
-
What do I need to bring to class?Yourself, a good attitude, and workout clothing - including grip socks! We also strongly recommend water, although we also provide that free of charge to you.
-
Do I really need grip socks?Yes! Grip socks are required for every client for every class. They help you safely get low and go slow AND keep things cleaner. Bring your own, or you can purchase a pair in studio.
-
What if I can no longer make it to a class I booked? You can view all your bookings and cancel them in your Fit by Wix app or through your bookings page on our website. Cancellations made more than 12 hours prior to the start of class are considered “early cancels” and do not get deducted from your account. Many of our classes fill up and we are rarely able to fill a missed spot last minute. Because of our small class sizes, it is very important that we fill every spot we can. Cancellations made less than 12 hours prior to the start of class are “late cancels” and are deducted from your account as if you attended class.
-
What happens if I miss a class?Missed classes that are not cancelled are deducted from your account as if you attended class.
-
I joined the WAITLIST for a class. How does that work?If you are on the waitlist for a full class, our system will add you to class and send you an email if/when a spot opens up. Sometimes this happens shortly before class and we understand if you can't make it on such short notice. If you are added to a class within 12 hours of class time and are unable to make it, we will not charge the class to your account. Even if you notice after the class happened, just send us an email at info@lagreesa.com or WhatsApp and we will credit the class back to your account.
-
I'm pregnant. Can I do Lagree?Though it’s not recommended to start a new workout mid pregnancy, we’re comfortable with you practicing as long as you and your physician are! We have countless modifications available to keep you and your baby safe - just make sure you let your instructor know. If have ANY concerns, we’d recommend a private session to best familiarise yourself with the important pregnancy modifications that your instructors will cue you on during group classes.
-
Is Lagree appropriate as a pre-natal workout?Lagree offers a great way build strength in deep abdominal and pelvic muscles that can be helpful in delivery and for post-natal recovery. However, certain steps should be taken in order to ensure that this is being done safely. Every body and pregnancy is unique and clients should consult with their physician prior to starting any fitness routine. All of our instructors have been trained to cater their routines for pregnant clients. These are some important things to keep in mind when exercising during pregnancy: Communicate – Please let your instructor know that you are pregnant before the start of class. It is not always obvious and the instructor can't make the proper modifications if they do not know. Our instructors generally try to motivate clients to push their bodies through the workout, but pregnant women should first and foremost listen to their own body. Take breaks when you feel you need them, don’t do exercises that you are uncomfortable with and don’t be shy about calling the instructor over if you need help or something doesn’t feel right. Avoid prone and supine positions – Our instructors have been trained to offer modifications for exercises to allow you to target each muscle group while avoiding these positions. Avoid risk of falling and other trauma – Some Lagree exercises challenge your balance. While it is very rare that somebody falls during one of our classes, our instructors can offer you modifications that will minimize this unnecessary risk. Stay hydrated – This is always important, but even more so during pregnancy. Avoid excessive heat.

I have an injury. Is it safe to do a class?Like traditional Pilates, Lagree is a low-impact workout and the machines allow you to customise the resistance / assistance level on any exercise to suit your body. Every injury is different so you should speak with your doctor if you have concerns. It is also important to let our instructors know before class that you are working through an injury so they can modify any exercises that could exacerbate your condition. You can always email us at info@lagreesa.com with details of your concerns.
